Can't find your answer? A course advisor can help with the syllabus, batch dates and exam questions.

Who issues the PMP certification?

The PMP certification is issued by PMI (Project Management Institute), a professional organization based in the US. PMI created the PMP credential, runs the PMP exam, and has local chapters around the world that support exam preparation and networking.

How much does the PMP exam cost?

In the US, the PMP exam costs US$425 for PMI members and US$675 for non-members (PMI raised its fees in August 2026). Fees differ by country, so check the current fee on the PMI website before you pay.

PMI membership has its own yearly fee, but members save US$250 on the exam, so joining PMI first usually costs less overall. For full details, see the official PMP Handbook on the PMI website.

How many questions are on the PMP exam, and how long is it?

Since July 9, 2026, the PMP exam has 180 questions: 170 are scored and 10 are unscored pretest questions placed at random, so you will not know which ones they are. You get 240 minutes (4 hours), with two 10-minute breaks.

Besides multiple-choice questions, the exam includes multiple-response, matching, hotspot and fill-in-the-blank questions. You can take it at a Pearson VUE test center or online with a remote proctor.

Will CertOcean help me fill in the PMP application?

Yes. We guide you step by step through filling in and submitting your PMP application on the PMI website (pmi.org), including how to describe your project experience.

What happens if I miss a PMP class?

You will not miss any content. You can either:

  • Watch the recording of the class in the LMS, or
  • Join the same session in another live batch.
How many contact hours or PDUs do I get from this PMP course?

You receive a CertOcean certificate for 35 hours of project management training when you complete the course. PMI counts training completed before December 1, 2026 toward the 35 contact hours you need to apply for the PMP exam.

PDUs (Professional Development Units) come after you pass: you need 60 PDUs every three years to renew your PMP certification and show that you keep your project management skills up to date.

Can I attend a free PMP demo class before enrolling?

Yes. Click Book a Free Demo on this page and an advisor will walk you through the course, the batch schedule and the trainers, and answer your questions. To keep live classes small and interactive, learners who have not enrolled cannot sit in on a running batch, but you can watch a sample class recording.
